Question QUESTION: does laser yey surgery leavy a scarring or mark on the eye?
ANSWER: Dear Marion,
Thank you for your query.
If done well with good laser technology and good surgical expertise, there is no scarring.
Also, your other query of marks...depends on what you mean by mark, if an experienced corneal expert sees the eye with sophisticated equipment he can make out that some refractive procedure has been performed, however, this is not seen with naked eye.

QUESTION: i am interestein joinind the defence forces and i need good vision to do so and thus my marks i meant could they be visible to a doctor doing a full medical?
Answer Hi Marion,
Nice to hear from you again. That is precisely why I clarified the question in my earlier response.
LASIK may leave a mark, visible to an expert alone, however there are certain procedures like EpiLASIK which is free of this and is usually considered as the procedure of choice for those undergoing medical screenings for job requirements with the Defense, Navy, Aviation etc.
In some countries, refractive procedures like LASIK are disallowed, hence EpiLASIK helps in such cases.
We have done many cases of EpiLASIK with excellent success.
The success of laser vision correction - LASIK / EpiLASIK depends on a multitude of factors, primary being the expertise of the doctor along with a good laser technology in an International standard set up of hygiene and care with stringent eligibility criteria.
