Question hi Dr
my son is two years and eight months.he's been a squint from birth.i have seen eye doctors and i have been taking him to for eye assesment i need you to advice me on your oppinon for the treatment.is laser treatment possible?should i go for a surgery?or should i wait till he is a little bigger? thanking you and god bless you.
Answer Dear Aamir,
I can understand your concerns regarding your child.
No laser treatment is available for squint.
It needs to be firstly evaluated by a good eye specialist or squint specialist, who may avoid surgery by some other methods.
If surgery is the only options, then it is a safe procedure and you must not hesitate for the salke of fear because it would be a bigger loss to have other issues due to poor vision as in children vision plays a very important role in the development of the brain of a child.
If in Mumbai,India, we would be glad to help.
