Question hello Doctor. i am a 27 year-old lady . I was myopic for all my life. On december 2006, i decided to get rid of my glasses and do the LASIK, on both eyes. everything was going well, my convalescence, and all the rest. However, when i got married, i had to take contraception pills (Microgynon 30), cuz i'm still working, anyway, at the end of my periods, when i have to start a new bubble pack of these contraceptive pills, the burning starts in both my eyes, and it's really bothering me, because my eyes become a little bit red, and watery. and this symptom goes away as soon as i stop taking my pills for one week. So what's the problem? do i have to change into another contraception, cuz , in fact i've chosen Microgynon 30, cuz it's a meager contraception or it has a low dosage. please, is it related, or not ?? i need help on that !
Thank you in advance for your answer !
Answer Dear Meriem,
Contraceptive pills if they affect the eyes, it is usually a change in number by a small difference from the earlier one.
I have not come across anyone having allergic eye symptoms to the same.
This could be coincidental which could be an allergy or mild infection in the eyes, it may need the attention of an eye doctor if still present.
Hope, this information would help you.
