Question QUESTION: Sir,
Last year when I have done routine checkup for my son Sravan for his eyes. He is wearing a glass of -2.5 for right eye and -.4 for left eye. This year when the checkup is done there is no problem for his right eye. But his left eye sight is come down. Now doctor says it is .8.
My question is will it happen like this in a year gap.
He advised to put contact lens or laser surgery. Let me know is there any future problem if the laser surgery is done. or can I proceed with laser surgery.

FIRST of all LASIK surgery can be done only after 18 years of age
yes this can happen over period of time
if he is 18 above you can very well undergo laser surgery and get rid of glasses permanently since contact lenses also have their own problems

QUESTION: Sir,
Apart from my above question I have another doubt that Do power will increase after laser surgery. I would like to do it at Dr. Vasan Clinic at Calicut, Kerala. What is your opinion. My son is only 16 now. Will the power increase if I do in 2010. Or till then can he use glasses which is priscribed now. Kindly let me know about the dryness of eye after laser surgery and how to over come it.

the power of the eye has to be stable for atleast 3-6 months before doing lasik surgery
Dr.Vasan is excellent surgeon please go ahead and take his opinion and keep following up with him regularly and leave it to him after complete examination as to when surgery can be done safely
dryness is known in all patients undergoing LASIK but it lasts from few weeks to months don't worry the operating surgeon will give tear supplements post operative
