Question QUESTION: Dear Doc, i've read an article which talks about the possibility of laser surgery to change eyes' color. When this surgery could be avaible normally for us?
Thanks
ANSWER: Dear Angelo,
Tempting as it may sound, there is no permanent laser or any other procedure to change the colour of the iris.
LASIK is the laser eye surgery which gets rid of glasses or numbers.
On the net one may come across many claims such as tatooing and laser procedures claiming to do so, but as an ophthalmologist, one would caution you from such procedures. Since there is no permanent solution, any attempts may result in permanent visual loss or damage.
Please stick to the coloured lenses, more so since you can choose between so many colours. You have otherwise healthy eyes, so please keep it that way!
Hope this clears your doubts on change in colour of eyes,
Warm Regards,
Dr Anand Shroff, MS (OPHTH), FICS

I read the article. It says "maybe in the future' a laser like this will be available. The one currently talked about in the study 'destroyed' the natural pigment.
Best to avoid such experiements as who knows what effects this will have on your vision in future.
