Laser Eye Surgery - scar related query

Expert: Dr.Manu C.Rajnani - 8/9/2008

Question
hi doctor,
i just want to know is it possible to remove a scar FROM SURGERY???

actually i used to wear contact lenses and some 5 years ago i have an eye infection due to contact lens on my right eye, which actually turned to disaster as there was few percent of chances of my eye loss...but i luckily it got treated but it lefts a very minor scar very near to my cornea and that scar is responsible for a very little shadowing vision in the far right part of my right eye cornea...

at that time when i got the infection my right eye power(which was earlier -1.5) had suddenly went down to zero after that treatment of few medicines and bandages(but no surgerical treatment)but now with the time sometimes i feel a bit pain over my right eye and presently my both eyesight power are -2.00, so i wear glasses....

so plz help me with that is it possible to remove that scar then go for laser treatment for both eyes...and what are any other way....

thanxs and regards

Answer
Dear AJITA

Thanking you for asking this question

IT will be ideally better to first get prelimnery check up and since you say the scar is in peripheral area of cornea it will be better to get LASIK done first and then to cover the scar you can either wear colored contact lens or some other procedure
if you have any further queries please feel Free to get in touch with me

Thanking you
