LASIK surgery is done using excimer laser rays to reshape the cornea at a microscopic level. The procedure is done after making a thin superficial flap in the cornea using a micokeratome. The flap is put back after the LASIK.
To know if your eye is fit for the LASIK procedure you need to undergo certain tests which include Topography, Pachymetry , and retinal examination.
