Question sir,
Is it possible to do successful catract surgery if a person is having low platlet in blood ? if no then what is the minimum platlet count required for successful catract surgery?
Answer Dear Naveen,
We can do cataract surgery when the platelet count is on the lower limit of normal range. If lower than that, the anaesthetist has to give fitenss for the same after examination of the patient.
Cataract surgery in our hospital is performed with a micro incision with very minimal blood loss and hence depending on other general heath parameters we decide if we can take up the case or not with discussions with our anaesthetist/ physician.
