Question
How do you cheer in Latin, as in, if you wanted to say "Rah! rah!"  Did the
Romans have a similar cheer?  I'm obviously not looking for a literal translation,
just something equivalent to yelling "yay!" or "hooray!"   This is not something
that my Latin dictionary covers.  Please, and thank you.

Answer
Hello,

The Latin equivalent to  yelling  "yay!" / "hooray!" / "Rah! rah!"   is the indeclinable  interjection  “euge”  which is just an exclamation of joy, applause, admiration, approval or encouragement.

Moreover “euge” can  mean  also “Well done!” /  “Good!”.

Have a nice day,
Maria

Note that “euge” is pronounced as follows:

-E like the  second E in “especially”. The accent falls on this vowel.

-U like the U in “truth”

-G like the G in “gender”, according to scholastic pronunciation.

-E like the first E in “especially”
