Latin - translation please!

Question
Hello! I'm putting together a present for my family, and I was wondering if you could translate "DO NOT GENTLY SURRENDER" into Latin.

Thank you SO much & I'm a huge fan of all the work you do!

Answer
Hello,

I could suggest the following translation which is an adaptation of a Virgil’s line:

-“Ne facile cede”, if you are addressing to only one person and thus the pronoun “you” is a 2nd.person singular.

-“Ne facile cedite”, if you are addressing to two or more persons and thus the pronoun “you” is a 2nd.person plural.

Best regards,
Maria

Note that:

-Don’t = NE

-Gently= FACILE

-Surrender= CEDE (imperative of CEDO. 2nd.person singular) / CEDITE (imperative of CEDO. 2nd.person plural).
In Latin  in fact there is a different ending for the singular / plural, while in English the verb form is the same.

Finally see Virgil’s line ”Tu ne cede “ (Aeneid, book VI, line 95) meaning “Don’t surrender”.
