About Melissa
Expertise
I cannot answer whether or not to divorce someone. I cannot tell you explicitly what to do in any said situation (each person has their own free agency to make their own choice, I only advise). I cannot replace a visit to the bishop. I will look at the situation as unbiasly as possible. I can answer word of wisdom, scripture reference, clergy, organizational, social aspects, easter versus christmas, and semi-taboo subjects (eg. birth control).

Experience
I grew up in the church and continue participating fully in my local ward.

Organizations
Current LDS.

Education/Credentials
Attending BYU currently. Graduated high school.

Latter-day Saints - Book of Mormon scenes

Expert: Melissa - 11/9/2008

Question
To start out, I am LDS. This is just for a little input if you have time. If not, cancel my question. I am on a planning committee to re-enact the Book of Mormon for our Youth Conference next year. I was wondering if you had any scenes that would really impact the youth or something that stood out to you. Anything would be great. Thank you.

Answer
If you have the time, John Bytheway does a great talk about Alma 13 where you find the amazing line of in as much they began to be astonished.  It also slightly depends on what tone you want set for the reenactment.  Sariah's character is actually my favorite.  She acts as any mother would when faced with a decision and it just really speaks to me as a woman, rather than anything else.  Or more aptly put I can empathize with her because I have had to let people who are close to me go far away for a time and I understand the worry that she felt.

Beyond what just sticks out to me, ponder if you can what really means the most to you.  The feelings that you have will come across in the reenactment and really touch the audience in a way that just telling someone else's favorite story would not.

All the best,
Melissa
