what are the morman guide lines on intamatcy? we have both been married and divorced. one of us is a member the other is not a member.
Answer The LDS Church has no official position on dating for mature adults. There are many general guidelines that relate to individual behavior but most are not age related. For example, we should not wear revealing or provocative clothing, listen to or watch media that contains vulgar or sexually suggestive material.
We believe in chastity when not married and fidelity after marriage. Hand holding is okay. Kissing is okay if the couple keeps their passion under control because if not then kissing often leads to a loss of chastity. Any touching that arouses sexual passion would not be a good idea because it is either not virtuous behavior in and of itself or leads to a loss of chastity. Relationships should be built on mutual respect and interests and the sexual part comes after marriage.
