Question Hi, according to Mormons
Who is sit on the Throne in Revelation 4:10
and who is the lamb in Revelation 5:6
and who will be the bride of Lamb ?
Answer Hi Nick,
I will be happy to answer your questions. Please note that I am ex-LDS and belong to the Church of Christ that believes in the Book of Mormon and Bible.
In answer to your questions... I cannot speak for the LDS church, those whom most people consider "Mormons". I am not sure what their opinions on the subject are.
For myself the answers are:
1. Rev 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
I believe this is speaking of Jesus Christ, because other scriptures teach that Jesus created all things...
Eph 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Mosiah 4:2 And they had viewed themselves in their own carnal state, even less than the dust of the earth. And they all cried aloud with one voice, saying: O have mercy, and apply the atoning blood of Christ that we may receive forgiveness of our sins, and our hearts may be purified; for we believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who created heaven and earth, and all things; who shall come down among the children of men.
2. Rev 5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
This is definitely speaking of Jesus Christ as many scriptures in both Bible and Book of Mormon teach this.
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
1 Nephi 10:10 And after he had baptized the Messiah with water, he should behold and bear record that he had baptized the Lamb of God, who should take away the sins of the world.
3. The Bride of the Lamb is the Church of Christ or those accounted worthy to abide in the New Jerusalem...
Rev 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
Matt 9:14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
This is a spiritual marriage, "becoming one" with God spiritually. This has nothing to do with the LDS concept of Celestial Marriage or the outrageous belief that Jesus had many wives. Jesus compares the church as being 10 virgins preparing for the wedding feast to meet the groom... 5 were foolish, 5 were wise. That is like how the church is, some are foolish and won't have part in the marriage feast, while the wise who keep Christ's teachings will.
I hope this helps answer your questions, feel free to ask others if you like.
God Bless,
Mike
