About Hannah
Expertise
I can answer questions concerning standard doctrines, scriptures, curiousities, Mormon culture and society. I will not respond to debates. I'm sorry, but there are some things that I simply will not answer, not because I don't want to, but there are some things that the LDS people do not discuss casually--it's only talked about within the temple. Though I am a member, I do not believe that anyone could convert anyone to a religion over something as impersonal as the internet. So I won't even try to.

Experience
I have been a member of the LDS church for 8 years. Though I'm still a young person, I can answer most things about the church.

Latter-day Saints - feast day and dates, food choices of mormons

Expert: Hannah - 8/16/2008

Question
hi!

i just want to ask what are the feast day and their date of mormons? do you have food restrictions?

pam

Answer
Feast days?  We don't really have them.  Religious holidays we have are: Christmas (December 25), Easter (first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox) and Pioneer Day (July 24). We celebrate all the cultural ones as well.  That's basically it though.I mean, we celebrated Joseph Smith's 200th birthday, but that's not really a holiday. His birthday is December 23rd if you're curious.

Food restrictions: Yes. We don't drink alcohol (at all), smoke (not really an eating thing but you know) or drink caffeine.  We also are encouraged to eat meat sparingly and eat copious amounts of grain.
