For a different viewpoint on Mormonism for your questions, try me. I am a staunch believer in the Book of Mormon and belong to another church (the Church of Christ)that is set up identically to the Biblical church. If there are things about traditional Mormonism that trouble you or you have questions about, just ask and you might find the answers from the Book of Mormon to be quite surprising. I have been studying the scriptures diligently for 16 years under the school of hard knocks... I may not have all of the answers but will sure go find them if I don`t. I`m strongest on Biblical and Book of Mormon doctrines, and am also somewhat familiar with Mormon history and archaeology.

Answer
Hi Cheong,
I will be happy to answer your questions below in **, Mike

You sent: how are you ,Mike,
I still working on my research , may I ask you few question ,

1) did you go from christian to Mormon ?

**Mike replies: Absolutely not. Who was the ancient prophet Mormon? He was a fundamental Christian. It would be like saying I was a Paul-ite just because I believed in the letters of Paul written in the Bible. On the other hand... the Utah LDS faction does seem to have strayed away from true Christianity (and the teachings of Mormon for that matter). The Utah LDS are more like followers of those whom they consider "Latter Day Prophets" even when the teachings of said prophets directly oppose true Christian teachings found in both Bible and Book of Mormon. In case I misunderstand your question, I was raised Utah LDS, converted to Jesus in a 7th Day Adventist (Bible only) church, discovered the BoM was true, rejoined the LDS only to find them false, and found the Church of Christ (Temple Lot) who is Christian (and uses the BoM) and I joined them.

2)  how many time you have read the entire bible ?

**Mike: The Old Testament at least twice, the New Testament at least 5 times, studied both literally 1000s of times. I've read the Book of Mormon 4 times and studied it also 1000s of times. Ironically many Utah LDS folks have never read the Book of Mormon completely and are very unfamiliar with its teachings, if they were familiar they could no longer be Utah LDS.

3) some told me that Mormon believe God is not perfect from the beginning, he have to get progress to be complete himself ?

**Mike: This is a common LDS teaching though I am not sure if they still believe in this or not. Their past leaders like Young have diffinately taught this. This is a patently false doctrine and is not once mentioned in the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon repeatedly teaches that there is only One God, who has always existed in His perfect eternal unchangeable state and that if God were to change He would cease to be God. You see apostates do not follow their own books.

4) every one can be God one day because God and us get same progressing , do you believe ?

**Mike: Again another patently false doctrine. Both Bible and BoM teach there is only One God who is unchangeable. Mankind, those who are worthy for heaven, will be resurrected and be "As angels" or the sons and daughters of God living in paradise eternally. We shall not become Gods of any sort. God will always be our God, we can never be equals to Him. This false doctrine comes from the false doctrine of Celstial Marriage where the LDS believe those who are sealed in their temples will become as Gods in the afterlife and will eternally procreate spirit children for their own worlds (as a God). This false doctrine, I believe (my opinion), was created in order to seduce the LDS women into accepting the abominable practice of polygamy when Young took his faction to Utah. The BoM bitterly condemns polygamy calling it a whoredom and abomination before God. The LDS women had to be tricked into accepting polygamy by using the lure of becoming as Gods (Heavenly Mothers). Even then, once they got into the practice, most hated it because deep down in their hearts they knew it was adultery pure and simple.

Again, just because a large church professed a book does not mean they follow it. Also just because a large church becomes unchristian does not mean their boooks are unchristian as well. The Catholics profess the Bible yet have many practices not taught by the Bible. The same apples for the BoM. You asked me how many times I have read the Bible and I told you. I notice many of your questions are the very same questions that antis use commonly against Mormons or the Utah LDS. Most of these antis have never read the BoM and go by the word of others alone, basically judge a book without ever reading it. Have you ever read the Book of Mormon? If so what things has it ever taught that you found contradict the Bible?

God Bless,
Mike
