AboutDavid Gross Expertise If you are truly seeking answers or information I will do my best to answer questions related to any aspect of the LDS Church.
Experience I have been a member of the church for 27+ years after being raised as a not very active Reform Jew.
Question Does God exist in a physical body? A body of flesh and bone? Did God start with a mortal body (like mine) and develop into being God (as he is now)?
I have just recently started reading the Book of Mormon after living a life as a Lutheran
Answer Yes, yes and yes. We believe that all people including God and Jesus Christ have a physical body. God's physical body is of flesh and bone.
Genesis 1:26 and 27
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness...
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
A prophet by the name of Lorenzo Snow said: “As man is, God once was; and as God is, man may become.”
I could give you scriptural references but I will tell you that there are other scriptures that can be interpreted to have the opposite meaning. The truthfulness of the Book of Mormon or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints cannot be proved. You must sincerely pray about it and want an answer. Then listen to the inspiration of the Holy Ghost.
