About Hannah
Expertise
I can answer questions concerning standard doctrines, scriptures, curiousities, Mormon culture and society. I will not respond to debates. I'm sorry, but there are some things that I simply will not answer, not because I don't want to, but there are some things that the LDS people do not discuss casually--it's only talked about within the temple. Though I am a member, I do not believe that anyone could convert anyone to a religion over something as impersonal as the internet. So I won't even try to.

Experience
I have been a member of the LDS church for 8 years. Though I'm still a young person, I can answer most things about the church.

Latter-day Saints - Sealing

Expert: Hannah - 9/22/2007

Question
Were does temple sealing come from.If you are not sealed will that exclude you from the kingdom of GOD[celestrial}kingdom.

Answer
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "where."  The temple sealings come from God.  He ordains them and sanctions them, or they aren't really temple sealings.

No, you are not excluded from the Celestial Kingdom.  However, there are degrees of glory within the Kingdoms, and the highest degree of glory within the Celestial Kingdom is only available to those who are in an eternal marriage.

However, if someone never had the chance to be sealed in their earthly life, God will work it out.  Not exactly sure how, but there are temple sealings for the dead.  Also, if a person never met someone that they wanted to marry, they will have the opportunity to marry in the spirit world.  Everyone will have the opportunity, whether in this life or the next.  So it's not just about marriage in this life.
