There are references to people who have similarities between Jesus and John the Baptist and strong similarities between the Gospel of Luke and a few of the Old Testament books-I have read all of these and the resemblances are striking. Josephus, a noted Jewish Historian, I believe converted to Christianity as did St. Paul who, frequently is given credit for "founding" Christianity. I am a Jewish/Catholic agnostic Writer turned Chloistermonk turned Writer (screenplays) oh, and confused borderline Catholic/Jewish agnostic. I think we should look at the people at the time of Jesus, who fits as an Essene and as someone who possibly studied Buddhism and Hinduism and ask if there were people who could create, knowingly, Christianity-Josephsus, yes, St. Paul, absolutely but why would they-my father is a highly intelligent Jew and my mother a highly intelligent Catholic and they both said this - Judaism is easier to understand, but we are agnostics. It is fascinating!!!
