You should read the studies on green tea benefits

in cancer and antioxidant studies. it helps to control appetite, reduce dangerous cholesterol ,etc. Tea is very healthy--especially in a country where obesity is a major factor in our overall health.

Although not as popular in the United States since the British began taxing it, Tea is the second most drank beverage in the World, next to water of course. Tea drinking is thought to date back to around 2737 BCE. Increasing studies have been done on black, oolong and white teas and the health benefits are found to be very similar to those of Green Teas, perhaps because they all originate from the same plant (Camellia sinensis) and are only processed differently. Tea offers antioxidants and many different health benefits. In the ancient past it has been called the elixir of life.

Tea contains a very low caffeine content compared to other products such as coffee and I also think it depends on the type of tea you drink as well. Like all food and drink there are positives as well as well as negatives in that there are properties of tea can contain anti-oxidants which fight old age.

"Now yes, the Bible doesn't say anything about the drinking of Tea because tea didn't exist back then."

This isn't true. I am most certain that Chinese and/or Japanese were drinking tea before the Bible was even written. The real reason more likely is that tea was not know about to the people writing the scriptures at the time.

In conclusion I think that more research should be done into what Tea's are not harmful to the body so more people can benefit from its good properties.

This entry is incorrect. Tea was invented long before the mythological tales of the Bible were collected, dating back to 2700 BC.

I would highly suggest actually researching this topic before posting statements like this.  If you look at actual studies, facts, and evidence; you will discover that everything you said is entirely wrong.

I completely agree with the other posters above me. Tea is actually quite beneficial.

On a side note: I noticed that you spelled Mormon as "Morman" twice in your "About Me" section.  You may want to learn how to spell the religion you have belonged to your entire life before taking the next big step of justifying the "Word of Wisdom."

God knows all things! His knowledge is higher than us. There are a lot of things that we didnt know, if he gives us a commandment just like Word of Wisdom it is for our own good! If we will gonna break this commandment then we need to be ready for the  consequences for being disobedient in him.

Tea didn't exist back then? The Chinese have been drinking tea for thousands of years.  What you mean to say is that the people who concocted this information in the bible did not know about tea.

Tea (specifically light teas like Green tea) is actually really GOOD for you. It contains around 30 antioxidants which prevent build up of fatty deposits against artery walls. Drinking 2-3 cups of tea on a daily basis is one of the best things you can do other than exercising and eating veggies / fruits. It is very strengthening to you immunity.

It is not the tea that is bad for you; it is the CAFFEINE. Caffeine over time can not only make your teeth yellow but is very addictive and overexerts your heart [unnaturally] which is damaging to your system. The biggest issue with this - in my opinion - is the addictiveness. Satan is really good at making people slaves to anything, especially chemicals (i.e. "I cant wake up without my cup of tea or coffee. I cant think without it. It just kick starts my brain"). This is why the church allows the use of herbal tea, because of its caffeine disposal.

This "answer" stunned me. The ignorance in this world is keeping us in the dark ages. First, YES, tea DID "exist" "back then.... and plenty of it. Second, if a religion/cult insists on keeping ones body "pure", well, you'd be dead in no time for lack of food. MOST foods have poisons ADDED. This includes not only fast foods but supermarket foods - even "fresh" vegetables. Your government is VERY aware of this but poisoning you and your loved ones is a very lucrative business, an excellent, although short term, investment. Poisons in food keeps the economy rolling. There are also dangerous chemicals in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Toothpaste is an excellent example. Read the poison warning label on any toothpaste container. If you ingest it you are instructed to contact a poison control center. Thing is, ANY person trained in medicine KNOWS that the fastest way to ingest a drug or chemical is by placing it UNDER the tongue - thus nitroglycerin tablets. Third, no person has EVER seen, touched or heard a "god". "Gods" were/are concocted by control freaks. Scaring people with a made-up "god" is ALSO a very lucrative business. If ANYONE (Yes, 'even' parents!) tells you that there IS an all-knowing, all powerful, invisible being in outer space running the entire universe, say, "I'm sorry but, I'm all grown up now.", and WALK AWAY! I hope this has helped settle a few things and good luck to all!

Pls staph. Please tell me how you don't eat anything that is not good for your body. Please tell me how you don't take any medicine. Please tell me how you don't buy electronic devices because: "it didn't exist back then, duh". Please tell me that you don't buy food for your dog because the bible doesn't say anything about dog food. Please tell me how your kids don't go to school because in the bible it's not specified the age or the subjects a person should study. Please tell me you don't eat ice cream because there was no ice cream at the time. And tea, the plant, has existed for a veeeeery long time before Jesus by the way. What a bunch of cynical people. Go live with the Amish and pretend progress and multiculturalism is not happening.
