AboutHannah Expertise I can answer questions concerning standard doctrines, scriptures, curiousities, Mormon culture and society. I will not respond to debates. I'm sorry, but there are some things that I simply will not answer, not because I don't want to, but there are some things that the LDS people do not discuss casually--it's only talked about within the temple. Though I am a member, I do not believe that anyone could convert anyone to a religion over something as impersonal as the internet. So I won't even try to.
Experience I have been a member of the LDS church for 8 years. Though I'm still a young person, I can answer most things about the church.
According to your knowledge and beliefs what is your stance about fornication today? Do you still consider it a horrible sin or is it not an issue anymore since today we have better use of contraceptives, and we have genetic tests to prove whose kid is whos etc....
i can understand its problem in the older days, but not today. I think times have changed too greatly so it is surprising that most followers of the world's religions whether jewish, chrisian, muslim, hindu,etc..insist on how sinful it is (whether they do it or not) and do not really question whether such a rule still applies today or not (which may be called blind faith if one doesnt question)...i would like to know your views and beliefs and perhaps learn something from you
ps: if u have something to say about homosexuality id love to hear about it too...i know homosexuals and that its for a fact that it isnt in their hands who they are attracted to..so it just doesnt feel right when religious ppl say they are damned to hell for following their heart.."
Answer Fornication is just as much a sin today as it was yesterday. The Lord is unchanging. I don't see your argument. Why would it change a thing?
I don't really think it is blind faith, as the Lord has reempahsized it to people that I know are prophets, seers and revelators, as well as to myself, when I asked him. If you ask the Lord, he'll tell you yourself.
As for homosexuality, yes. The LDS faith considers it a sin. One of my good friends is lesbian, so I wouldn't consider myself a homosexual hater at all. I stil believe that she is partaking in a sin, but she's a wonderful girl, fun to be around, and I love her as a friend. However, I believe that everyone is prone to some sin or another. So you could say that they are attracted to those people, just as some people have a weakness to heterosexual lust. But it's still a sin to follow that sensuality. I believe that they are not damned to hell. The only people who are "damned to hell," (if we are considering hell, Satan's prescence) are those who deny that Jesus is their Savior after having known. (Not BELIEVING. KNOWING).
