AboutDavid Gross Expertise If you are truly seeking answers or information I will do my best to answer questions related to any aspect of the LDS Church.
Experience I have been a member of the church for 27+ years after being raised as a not very active Reform Jew.
Question Was the Bible originally written in Greek or Latin? Either way, since no one currently fluently speaks the language in its original form, isn't the Bible not completely accurate. I know it has been translated, but it can only be the translation/interpretation of the meaning, and the the exact words of God as it was meant to be read.
Answer The "Old" Testament was written in Hebrew. The "New" Testament was written in either Aramaic or Greek depending on whose research you believe.
I believe that the Bible in its present form has some errors in translation and transcription. I also believe that there were some deliberate changes made in the centuries since it was written.
The L.D.S. church has an official position as follows: "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly."
Which is one reason that I believe we have a need for modern revelation through a Prophet of God.
