About Erik Smith
Expertise
I am mostly knowledgeable about the "mothership" ("Law & Order") and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." I can answer questions about "L&O: Special Victims Unit" as well, but "Criminal Intent" is probably the show where my knowledge is the strongest

Experience
I've watched "Law & Order" since 1991. I've watched all the "L&O: SVU" and "L&O: Criminal Intent" re-runs on USA Network and Bravo. I own "Law & Order: Criminal Intent - The Complete Third Season (2003-2004)" on DVD.

Question
There was an episode whereby not too long ago one of the detectives shoots and kill a suspect who got off and they knew he committed the crime but could not convict him. Who played the role of that dectective?

Answer
Hi Olivia,

Last season, in the episode "Burn Card", Det. Green shot a gambler who may have been involved in a current case, and the subsequent investigation turned up Green's hidden past. The DA found that Green was trying to prevent the gambler from shooting a third party. Is that he episode you're thinking of?

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Sincerely,
Erik
