Question
What does the "Part (insert a number)" mean when they get to the trial section of
the show.  Each new scene will show like... So & So's apartment, 123 Street,
Brooklyn, NY, Part 23...what is that?

Answer
This bothered me for a while, but it all makes sense ... if you believe the New York Court system makes sense!

The "Part" refers to the individual courtroom it's taking place in. I'm unsure whether a room is permanently called a "part" or if it's just where that judge happens to be adjudicating that day (the part following the judge), but that is the key there.

"Part" isn't mentioned along with an address. (FYI: Most all of those addresses are fabricated; if you live in NYC or are familiar with the turf there, most of the addresses, if they existed, would be in the rivers or the middle of Central Park!)

Hope this helps!
