Question
Who is playing the D.A. in the show now, and oreviously??

Answer
First off, apologies for the delay in responding -- I didn't receive the original All Experts question!

But now I have, so....

On Law & Order, they have the District Attorney, and the Executive Assistant District Attorney. They also have an Assistant District Attorney. So there are a lot of DAs floating around. I'll take your question literally for now, but if you actually wanted the EADA or the ADA, then just let me know and I'll send another answer.

The District Attorney history on the show runs like this:

Fred Dalton Thompson (D.A. Arthur Branch)
2002-Present

Dianne Wiest (D.A. Nora Lewin)
2000-2002

Steven Hill (D.A. Adam Schiff)
1990-2000

Also, in the pilot episode, "Everybody's Favorite Bagman," the D.A. was played by Roy Thinnes (D.A. Alfred Wentworth).

Hope this helps! Email me back if you need more follow-up.

--Kitt
