Question

strange growth
have seen many fungi growths through the years, but, this one is a first...can you identify it...Thanks...

Answer
I cannot identify this for you. All the searching that I know how to do has not shown a fungus (mushroom) growth like it.
I considered that it might be a spittlebug mass; or the egg mass of some kind of spider. It might even be another stage of a particular insect eg. caterpillar or pupa.
