Lawns/Ridding soil of too much acid

Question
How do I rid my garden of too much acid?

Roy

Answer
The short answer is to add lime but you could end up wasting money. pH is not a big worry unless for something specific. If pH is the reason for poor yield (commercial crop) or poor quality of a marketable product, then sure, pH should be corrected. So now when you take a soil sample to be tested, you will be able to tell the Lab what you are trying to grow or what you are trying to correct. They will conduct an analysis and come up with recommendations which you can decide upon. That would be money well spent.
