Lawns - Thick bladed grass

Expert: Ronald B Persaud - 6/26/2009

Question
I have clumps of thick bladed grass in my yard.  I'm wondering what it is and how do I get rid of it.
                ThankYou

Answer
If you are sure that you do not want it, then you can kill it with a product like 'glyphosate' or you can remove it as chunks of sod. Whichever you choose, you will need to resod the areas or some type of vegetation will move into the space. This event can cause more problems than the original "thick bladed grass" you want to get rid of.
