Question
I live in a condo and I have a fairly large lawn, but it is almost all weeds. The maintenance people come once a week and when they mow it, it looks like it's never been mowed because they just mowed over these deeply rooted weeds. I have worked very hard keeping my yard up (planting lots of perennials) but this lawn is pathetic and no one cares but me. Is there any solution to this? I have a cat that goes outside so anything toxic is out of the question.
Thanks~L.P.

Answer
Hi Lynda.

If the management company is taking care of it, there's not a lot you can do. If chemicals are off the table, then the only real alternative is ripping it all out and sodding it. I doubt they'd be too keen on doing that for you unless you paid the bill, but it wouldn't hurt for you to ask them.

Killing off weeds is one of those things that organic products cannot do yet, which leaves us only with more toxic alternatives. I don't like it any more than you do, but that is the fact for now.

Good luck!
