Question
I have been getting almost complete circles of dead grass about 6 inches in diameter and it happens almost overnight. Its not grubs because i cant lift it right out. It feels like roots are still intact but its dead and laying down. I live in NJ and my lawn is fescue , blugrass and rye grass. What can i do?

Answer
Hi Bob,

I could be any of several things, but I'd venture to guess that it's Red Thread. We're seeig a LOT of that now, and I think it's your primary culprit.

That link will take you to Cornell's site, where there is more thorough information on this Spring disease.
