Lawns/lime for yards

Question
I have heard that applying lime to your lawn with eliminate
fleas and ticks. Is there any truth to this? Thanks, Debra

Answer
A long time ago an insecticide (BHC) was mixed with limestone and applied to lawns or put in a small area for the dog to "roll in". But we now live in different times; BHC has been discontinued and lime by itself has no insecticidal properties that I know of.
