Lawns - moths in lawn

Expert: Ronald B Persaud - 6/27/2009

Question
What is the best product and way to get rid of moths in the lawn?

Answer
I cannot think of a moth (adult stage) that is a problem to a lawn. The female adult will certainly lay eggs and it is the caterpillar stage that damages the lawn. It is not a certainty that adults now will result in caterpillar damage in the future. Here is a site that gives good information on the sod webworm, a good example of a moth which is a problem.
