Question Hi
My neighbor wouldn't take my advise to kill the purple flower weed that will
over take a lawn. I read about how people think it is a pretty flower and do
not realize what the out come will be. Last spring I had nothing, this spring it
is on the side of the house and in the back yard.
What is the strongest application I can use on a lawn with out killing the
grass.
I do not put in the same attention to the lawn behind the garage, which has
resulted in a lawn with multiple unwanted weeds, clover etc. I will make it a
point to put down Scott fert. w/weed killer in the fall. The same neighbor
planted bitter sweet years agoI fight that as well.
Thanks, Charlie
Answer Hi Charlie,
This sounds like it could be wild violets, which can be a real pain to get rid of. Unfortunately, the only products I know of that can kill this are restricted use, and can only be applied by a professional. If you call local lawn care services, they should be able to tell you what they can do.
Please let me know if you think the weed could be something different. If you have a digital picture, you can always upload it for me to look at and give you a different strategy.
