Led Zeppelin - Battle Of Evermore

Expert: Mike Caldwell - 10/12/2008

Question
What is this song about? Thanks:Aaron

Answer
The song is inspired by Robert Plant's reading about the Scottish border wars from centuries ago, and he chose to craft a story in which he was the narrator, and Sandy Denny, guest vocalist, would play the part of Town Crier.  It's really nothing more than a story, with some inspiration to Tolkien elements (i.e. the "Ring wraiths").
That said, it depicts the medieval wars that raged in the day, and when the town crier would call the people to arms to defend their villages.
