Question Which was the role of groupies for the band?
Answer Groupies served multiple roles, but it doesn't just apply to Zeppelin per se. They mostly served the roles of surrogate companionship, in place of the wives/girlfriends who they missed while on tour. It should be noted that the band's penchant for groupies was not necessarily prevalent during tours of the UK, when they could basically drive home to their families after a short string of shows. Most of the groupie roles involved attention, running errands, and being there for quelling the sense of loneliness that developed during those long tours overseas.
