Question Hello, I'm trying to get the Led Zeppelin logo tattoo from the album Stairway to heaven and i want to know the meaning of the angel before I get the tattoo. It seems like a falling angel for me.
Answer I'm thinking you're confusing some terms here. Well, for starters, there is no album called "Stairway To Heaven". Likely, you're thinking of the band's adopted logo for their "Swan Song" label. This features a rendition of a the mythological character Apollo, associated with sun and light. Zeppelin took it from the William Rimmer painting, entitled "Evening: Fall of Day". So it wasn't an angel, but rather the portrayal of a mythological god.
