About Chris M. Zangara
Expertise
I`m not only a Zeppelin collector but I have been collecting Zeppelin - Page(solo) Plant(solo) and Page/Plant for over 18 years. I am truly a lover of Page/Plant music in & out of Zeppelin simply because of the honesty of it all. - I have been studying them for as long as I have been listening to Rock/Blues Music. I look forward to any question and will answer the very best I can - as above all - I am just a fan like you!

Question
Chris,

What is the correct set list or this concert?
Thanks!

Answer
Hey Matt, I've been ill and out of the loop for a while but am starting to get back into the swing of things. I've taken too much vacation time over the summer; people are starting to ask me if I'm in China enjoying the Olympics!  If I couldn't make it to London to see Zep '08 last December (a depressing memory to be sure..I really thought I was going..but at least I've been able to see the show on disc [shout out to c. Christian.])

Anyway - here's the set list for 4/27/69. Zep did two sets that night, but it was all a part of the same concert, contrary to some who think there were actually 2 shows in one night! Nahh, it was just one long show with an intermission.

This is THE correct and confirmed set list according to the complete bootleg release and Zep aficionados Dave Lewis, Luis Rey and Simon Pallet; authors of "Led Zep LIVE" and "The Concert File", respectively.  I've heard the bootleg, and it was a wild, wild night.  Sounds like a party with Zep and a few friends (all stoned), as Plant's banter with the audience is hilarious and constant, and very up close in the recording. Very clear. This show also has the longest ever version of 'As Long As I Have You' with spot-on improv from Page and Plant that leaves the young (and stoned) 1969 audience breathless and craving (screaming) for more.

It was their final night in San Fran that year before heading out to Irvine, CA.  But this show, and the one on the 26th was where Zep proved themselves gods of San Fran.

Ok enough babbling..or people might start calling ME Percy.  Here's the set list - the date April 27, 1969 at the Fillmore West in San Francisco:

Set 1:
- Train Kept A Rollin
- I Can't Quit You
- As Long As I Have You (Including Fresh Garbage, Shake, Cat's Squirrel, Cadillac, No Money Down, I'm A Man, etc)
- You Shook Me
- How Many More Times (Including Feel So Bad, The Hunter, Mulberry Bush, etc.)
- Killing Floor (Includes Sweet Jelly Baby).

Set 2:
- Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
- White Summer/Black Mountain Side
- Sitting & Thinking
- Pat's Delight
- Dazed & Confused
- Communication Breakdown

Hope that helped!  Thanks again Matt - take it easy.

Chris Z.
