About Chris M. Zangara
Expertise
I`m not only a Zeppelin collector but I have been collecting Zeppelin - Page(solo) Plant(solo) and Page/Plant for over 18 years. I am truly a lover of Page/Plant music in & out of Zeppelin simply because of the honesty of it all. - I have been studying them for as long as I have been listening to Rock/Blues Music. I look forward to any question and will answer the very best I can - as above all - I am just a fan like you!

Led Zeppelin - Where can I sell my Led Zep stuff...

Expert: Chris M. Zangara - 8/11/2008

Question
Hey there. I have a massive (like 3 milk crates full) collection of Led Zep original (not CD-r's) concert recordings on CD and a bunch of Vinyl too. 70 percent of it is 60's & 70's shows on labels like Silver Rarites, Condor Toasted, Totonka, Chartbusters, Grate Dane, and others and some studio outake stuff, some is Page Plant stuff from the 90's.

I also have some Vynil stuff, like the Destoyer show June 24, 1977 Cleveland that Bonzo swiped from the soundboard and gave to the Led Zep fan club. I also have a box set called "Strange Tales From The Road" that has a 10 LP set called "The Wizards Quest" inside on a "Continuing Saga label.

Anyway I know this stuff is fairly valuable. I was able to sell a small quantity of it on ebay before I got in troule (who knew Warner was so evil) for 40-50 a cd. I was at the Beatlesfest in Chicago today and thought there might be something like that for LZ i could get a table at. Any ideas?

Answer
Hey Chuck.  Try the website(s) below.

Rick Barrett is the undisputed leader of Zeppelin collectibles worldwide. I've purchased many items from him and spoken to him on more than a few occasions during the last 15 years or so.  He & his wife are very nice folks and - although I've had a run of bad luck lately trying to get hold of him - they're usually very quick to respond to a fellow collector. Photos of his collection are in just about every Zeppelin book ever published if there is a "Zep collectable" section or index.

His name is well known amongst collectors circles and he has met the band, especially Robert, many times as you will see by the pictures of them together on his website.

Good luck and please let me know how you fare with your collection.  I wish I had more than just a few nickels to my name these days. You certainly have quite a collection. VERY valuable stuff.  Rick should be able to, at least, steer you in the right direction - much better than I can.

ALSO - for your live concert CD's especially if they are originals, you need to contact HiddenGrok.com.  He specializes in CD's on Zeppelin and doesn't trade/sell anything that's not original.  I don't recall Rick Barrett dealing in bootlegs but mostly collectible items from $5 key chains to $1500 Gold and Platinum record awards and rare books and autographs...things of that nature.

No matter what, both of these experts should get you pointed down the road to Zeppelin collector’s heaven.  Sounds to me like you may just be the next Rick Barrett...who knows I may be sending people your way in the years to come...possibly sooner?  Well, again, good luck and I hope this helped!  Here are those web links for you:

HIDDENGROK; his name is also CHRIS (No relation, damnit...) - Hiddengrok.com

Good luck man. Keep me updated if you can.  You can email me personally if you wish at zep2002 @aol.com.

Take Care,

Chris Z.
