Question
I've been searching for a while for the name of the female artist who
recorded a cover of Big Log. I thought it had been covered by the Cowboy
Junkies but apparently I'm not searching in the right places. This is not a
recent recording.  

Answer
The only one that comes to mind is from about 5 years ago, when Alison Krauss sang "Big Log" on her brother Viktor's album.  Some info (and the download) can be found here:

The vibe of the song is somewhat reminiscent of Cowboy Junkies, so it might be what you heard.  Otherwise, I'm tapped!
