I have a bootleg Led Zeppelin vinyl I inherited from my uncle's collection. It is the Earls Court collector's edition colored vinyl. It is in near mint condition, and on the record itself is red marble and it says, "for distribution to fan club members only." I have a few photos of it, and my question is, what is the value?
Answer For a relative rarity like this, it's hard to say - basically it would depend on how much a collector might pay to grab this. Black/white covers aren't generally as valuable as deluxe color covers, but the colored vinyl, condition, and age of the item makes it more unique. I'm not immediately sure which boot "label" released this one. Is there any additional printed information on this package? If not, it's not quite as valuable, as collectors seek the prominent boot label releases for this show, rather than small time, home-made pressings. I'm not sure anyone would want to spend more than $50 without additional details and source recording info (I assume this is from the soundboard recording of May 24). If you have any more information about it, let me know! And is it only one "disc" (vinyl record)? If so, it's going to fetch less than the various multi-record releases from larger bootleggers, regardless of age and condition.
