Legislation, Presidential & Congressional Politics - Constitution

Expert: Michael Troy - 10/8/2008

Question
What is a specific part of the constitution you feel strongly about(E.g. An Amendment,Article, author, weird facts, etc.)

Answer
Hi Ronald,

I think the most important component is the guarantee that the people have the right to elect representatives directly.  Also the requirement that States shall have a republican (representative) form of government.  That principle is critical to the national ideal.  Of course, I have spent most of my legal career focused on First Amendment issues, so that is very important to me as well.

I hope this helps!
- Mike
