Question What is the difference between the appropriations committee, the budget committee and the finance committee?
Answer Hi Zack,
The appropriations committee oversees the appropriation of all funds for the government spending. The budget committee is primarily in charge of reviewing the budget and reporting on the budgetary effects of spending. The finance committee oversees financial institutions (banks, brokerage houses, etc.) as well as trade issues, tariffs, and Social Security issues.
