Question I have a 1996 lexus es 300 and im trying to figure out how to remove the rear
speaker covers to install new speakers.
Answer the speaker covers are attached to the rear package tray. I order to remove the speakers, the rear seat needs to come out. The bottom seat cushion and the seat back. then the tray will pop up and out with a little help. Then you can get to the speakers. to get the seat out grab the bottom of the seat cushion about 8 inches in from each side and yank up. Do one side at a time. After you get the bottom cushiom out, look at the bottom of the seat back and you'll see 2 bolt with 12mm heads. Remove them. Then lift up and out. now you can get to the tray then the speakers.
