Question
Are others having problems with the FM radio in this car?  Static on many
stations makes it impossible to listen. When I was in Bath, ME I could pick up
only one static free station. AM seems fine - problem is with FM. The antenna
was replaced - problem abated, but is now back with vengeance.

I cant say that's a problem I've run into.  You say you have had the antenna replaced, but it should be built into the back glass for this year.  Does it have window tint, possibly it was damaged? The first thing I would do is pull the radio and see if both antenna cables are plugged in.
