Subject: 93 GS300 -EGR problem.

Question
93 GS 300, CA emission version, everything is clean from EGR pipe to intake, new parts and cleaned, but exhaust temp in EGR pipe is about only 50 C, too low and therefore giving error code 71.  I need more exhaust flow through the EGR pipe, how to I do this?  Do I need to clean EGR cooler if so, how?  What is causing restriction flow to EGR pipe?  To by-pass the system for now, I installed 22K ohm resistor on the EGR temp sensor connector and error code is coming up, by still problem not fixed, just cheated the computer.

Answer
Roman,
Are you sure you clean out the intake pipe? Remove the intake pipe again.  The Y pipe part.... Blow air through the hole. Run the carb clearner until it's clear. Thank you.
