Question
i need to know when i need to change and what type of spark plug is needed on my 97 es300 sedan. the car has 94k miles and is in excellent condition. the car is driven 80% city and i live in milwaukee so it sees inclement weather. also how can i minimize wind noise from the outside mirrors. and could i switch to sythetic oil at this time ? Is it possible i need new shocks or stuts at this time? thanks for the help

Answer
Hello Joe, There are two types of plugs Lexus uses and you may want to refer to your owners manual which will tell you which type to use. One is a platinum plug which gets replaced every 60k miles and the other is a iridium plug which gets replaced every 90k miles. You want to use either ND or NGK brand plugs only. Noise and mirrors seem to go together and there is not much you can do to correct it. Your vehicle does use struts and it is comon at this mileage. You may also need insulators which is the boot that protects the strut from dirt. Try and stick to a quality brand such as factory or KYB.
