Question
Why can only Stanley control the Lexx and why is it referred to as the most powerful weapon in the galaxy?

Thanks.

Answer
Hi Trevor! :)

Stan is the only one who can control the Lexx because he is the only person who has the bio-key embedded in his hand.  There is only one key, which becomes part of the owner's body and was created by the devine order so that only one person would have control of the Lexx at any given time...Stan got the key accidentally during the first movie, when one of the rebels trying to overthrow the Order became a cluster lizard's lunch and died in front of him. The key is passed on to the nearest living creature at the time of death, and Stan just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Others on the ship can talk to Lexx, but he will only respond to Stan's commands.

The Lexx was created as a half insect, half machine weapon of destruction--he's so powerful that he can blow up entire planets, which happens at least once an episode, mostly when Stan feels the need to show off :) Apparently, no other ship in the 2 universes can do this, and as long as the Lexx gets plenty to eat, his weapon can fire as many times as Stan wants it to.

Hope this helps! :)
Tracy
