Subject: MLIS programs

Question
I'm about to start my senior year in college (as a math major) and recently started thinking about acquiring an MLIS. this degree doesn't seem to be the subject of a bunch of analytic or ranking books, magazine articles and websites, as for example a Bachelor's degree or an MBA would be. For this reason I'm having trouble finding information on common admission requirements (GPA? GRE?), degree requirements and the most rigorous programs that doesn't come directly from the schools with MLIS programs. This makes it hard to tell what to expect from ANY MLIS program rather than what makes a particular program unique. Obviously specific school information will be useful once I know better how to gauge what I'm looking for. Are you aware of any general resources on this topic?

Answer
Kirsten:
If you have not already done so, I suggest that you visit the webpage of the American Library Association (www.ala.org) which has a link that lists all of the ALA-accedited schools and links to each of their programs -
http://www.ala.org/ala/accreditation/lisdirb/lisdirectory.htm This is a great way to start. You can also visit my website and go to Careers in Librarianship for more information (www.kiesermanconsulting.com) Good luck!
