Subject: Life Insurance of deceased relative
Question Greetings, I have just lost an uncle that was a military veteran. He was residing in a nursing home when he passed away less that a week ago. The poa did have a life insurance policy on him but the poa passed away in 01/08. A note was left at the nursing home my uncle was residing in indicating that there was a life insurance policy, but the insurance carrier was not named. My question is how can I determine who the life insurance carrier was for my uncle?
Answer Quintin,
If you go to www.mib.com and click on "consumer" you will find a method for finding lost policies. I believe it costs about $75, but they will research hundreds of companies to find all the policies for a person by social security number.
Hope this helps.
