Answer Mansoor,
Thanks for those responses and I hope you have safe travels. That is a big move for someone so young, but it sounds like you are getting ready quite well if you thinking about things like insurance.
California, as you know, may always be a little different than the other states in many things they do. Your best information will come directly from their source at:
There are contact emails and phone numbers for you to call and they will have access to actual agents and brokers for that state who can steer you directly to where you need to go to talk product selection (there are many) and cost (it will differ quite a bit).
My first general suggestion would be to find employment with an actual company and when you go to interview or ask for a job let them know you are interested in insurance and ask them what kind they would offer. The key with that is you will have access to it through your job and it can usually be a little easier on you and possibly a little less expensive that way...especially if that company is large enough (more than 10-15 people). That may be easier said than done, but it's something to look for in your search. My number two piece of advice to you, if you are coming to California...or any state...is to never be afraid to ask. Ask for work, information, help, etc. but watch out for things that look "too good to be true". There will always be people in this world that only look out for themselves and will use people to get what they want or just to be mean. Predjudice is alive and well in any country (as you may know) and you may be judged immediately upon arrival (especially from where you are coming from). It will take time and energy on your part to get over that hurdle but as you do so, be careful who you trust and always approach things with integrity and honesty. I have found that can help keep you out of the the deepest troubles.
