Question my brother recently passed away we found a policy naming his x girlfriend as beneficiary had my brother known this policy was still good he would have never left it to her is there anyway we can have it changed so money can be put in trust for there children
Answer Hi Loretta,
Ordinarily the arrangements for trust etc would be made in advance, at the time of the policy be written. The terms of the policy are legally binding, however I believe you may be able to legally challege or appeal against the payments.
This is sadly not an insurance question, you will need to seek advice from an attorney for this, and worth obtaining one who is well versed in this type of work as a lot would be involved to over turn the policy.
We should all update our last will and testament whenever any major life changes occur, however it is often the last thing on your mind until it is too late.
Good luck with the task ahead, please let me know how you get on.
